Henry Pollock says he has unfinished business with the British and Irish Lions and is using the ‘hurt’ of not showing up for the Test match in Australia as motivation.
Pollock stole the headlines when he was named in Andy Farrell’s 38-man squad last May, just months after making his England debut – and before the 20-year-old had even started a Test international.
Pollock played against the Western Force and ACT Brumbies but was unable to force his way into the Test squad without the Lions in a 2–1 series win over the Wallabies.
Having failed to get his hands on a coveted Test jersey, Pollock is already looking forward to New Zealand 2029, where he hopes to be central to another Lions triumph.
“It was an amazing experience to be there at such a young age, learning from all those amazing internationals and coaches,” he reflected to Sky Sports.
“It was one of those moments that you look back on and pinch yourself a little bit. It was an amazing experience to be a part of.
“But there’s still a bit of hurt that I haven’t played in Test matches. So there’s still some unfinished business, I guess, and I’d like to get back to it in a couple of years and hopefully be involved in those Test matches.”

Asked if Farrell’s decision to ignore him for the Test series served as fuel, Pollock added: “Yeah, right.
“The intention was to go there and play. I think he picked me to play that Test match.
“Obviously it was nice not to play in it, but I was happy enough to be there, being a member of the squad and making sure the guys trained well and got over the line at the end, and that’s what we did.”
