Tyson Fury has indicated that he plans to fight again in Dublin on August 1 in a post on social media.
The two-time heavyweight champion of the world posted a video of him training in Thailand alongside the caption “Come on August 1, Dublin, Ireland”.
Fury’s promoter Frank Warren was staging a fight night in the capital of the Republic of Ireland on that date, an IBO light-welterweight title fight between Piers O’Leary and Mark Chamberlain for the city’s 3 Arena.
Official confirmation of the 37-year-old’s involvement in the card is yet to be announced.
An August fight could serve as a preparation for the much-anticipated meeting between Fury and Anthony Joshua.
Joshua, 36, returns to action on July 26 against unknown Albanian Kristian Prenga for the first time since being involved in a car accident that killed two of his friends in Nigeria in December.
With the two former world champions set to meet in 2026, Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn announced in April that the London 2012 Olympic gold medalist Signed to fight Fury.
The announcement came after Fury returned from a 15-month layoff with a points win over Russia’s Arslanbek Makhmudov at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
After that win, Fury immediately called out Joshua, who was at ringside, and the pair exchanged words with the Morecambe fighter trying to get his rival into the ring.
