Xreal’s budget AR glasses feature anti-shake tech and adjustable frames

Augmented reality wearables provider Xreal has launched “X is Xreal” (XBX) subbrand, with the first flexible, lightweight smart glasses coming to the US in July. The new 01 AR glasses will be available starting at $299, with a “standard anti-shake system” and adjustable front frames.

While a01 does not degrees-of-freedom (DoF) support that we see in most AR glasses to track the wearer’s movement and head rotation, includes what Xreal calls an “industry-first spatial anti-shake algorithm.” This protects image clarity by reducing shake during turbulent times, such as when riding the subway or on an airplane, which helps prevent blurry or blurry images.

The adjustable front frames come in three models – Sport, Stealth, and Classic – and can be customized to match the device and specific clothing. Xreal hasn’t mentioned whether this feature can be purchased separately, or for how much. We’ve already seen adjustable frames on glasses like Solos AirGo Visionalthough the options offered by XBX seem vast in comparison.

Xreal also says that the a01 weighs about 62 grams (about 2.1 ounces) and has a 1,600-nit HDR10 display. It should be noted that the a01, like other Xreal AR glasses, does not come with a built-in battery, so you have to enjoy watching the content when the glasses are connected to your phone or laptop via the Internet.
