We have been waiting for Ferrari Luce for eight years.
It was January 2018, at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, in the past Ferrari chairman and CEO Sergio Marchionne initially spoke of “jumping horses” EV to compete with them Tesla.
“If there is a great electric car to be built, then Ferrari will be the first,” Marchionne said. “People are surprised by what Tesla did with the supercar: I’m not trying to minimize that Elonbut I think we can all do it. “
Ferrari was not the first. But it has taken the prize for its much-anticipated EV launch, what with the Elettrica “nickname” watering system, then last October. powertrain revealthen, in February, Apple-esque LoveFrom-made in directed by Jony Ive and Marc Newson.
Today’s unveiling of the exterior of Rome and Ferrari ends the secret and completes the project. This is Luce (Italian for “light”), the most important product Maranello has produced over the years.

The numbers are very high. Four motors, one per wheel, produce over 1,000 horsepower in Boost mode. The rear produces 832 hp and 7,750 Nm at the wheels. The front part adds 282 hp and 3,400 Nm. All power is available in less than a second. Zero to 62 mph is driven in 2.5 seconds, then on to a top speed of 192 mph. This is a good hypercar in GT disguise with five seats (a first for Ferrari).
The 122 kWh battery—one of the largest in any EV model—can produce up to 350 kW at 800-volt power. Ferrari says this battery gives the Luce a range of over 329 miles per charge. All-wheel drive and steering are inspired by the Purosangue SUV. Ferrari has confirmed a weight of 4,982 pounds, or 2,260 kg, which is about 200 pounds more than the Purosangue, despite the larger battery.
