The revolving door dilemma…a new revolution sweeping Italian football

There is no clearer example of the crisis in Italian football than the third consecutive absence of its national team from the World Cup, or the lack of continuity in the projects of its major clubs. With few exceptions, the inability to gain stability on the coaches’ bench or in the administrative offices eliminates any chance of establishing anything significant on teams of former stature.

The recently completed 2025-2026 season in Italy did not differ from the style prevailing in Calcio. With the Italian media not preoccupied with any World Cup rosters for the Italian national team since the recent disaster, all eyes are on the next season, 2026-2027, which is already in the works.

As the Italian Football Federation continues to search for a national team coach, a new revolution has broken out, forcing many clubs to change their coaches at the end of another season full of sackings and appointments.
