Morocco international Bilal Khanous received a strong morale boost just weeks before the start of the 2026 World Cup finals after Stuttgart made a final decision on his future following an outstanding season since joining the club in the last summer transfer window.
The management of the German club has decided to turn the loan of Al-Khannous into a permanent transfer by activating the purchase clause of the contract signed with “Leicester City” so that the Moroccan player continues his way in the German league with a contract that is extended until the summer of 2028, reports the Moroccan website “Le360 Sport”.
Stuttgart’s decision comes after Al-Khanous’s strong performances this season, where he has become one of the most popular members of the team, making 41 official appearances in various competitions, scoring 9 goals and providing 7 assists, confirming his great development at offensive and playmaking levels.
The decision on the Moroccan player’s future comes at an ideal time before the Moroccan national team enters the 2026 World Cup, as the Atlas Lions begin their campaign in the tournament on June 14 with a strong clash against Brazil.
Stuttgart sporting director Fabian Wolgemuth confirmed that Al-Khanous has performed at excellent levels in all competitions, noting that the player has excellent technical ability and a strong personality on the pitch despite his young age.
Al-Khanous began his football career at Anderlecht’s academy before moving to Genk, where he excelled in the Belgian league, opening the door to professionalism in the English Premier League through Leicester City in the summer of 2024.
At the international level, the Moroccan midfielder continues to strengthen his position in the ranks of the Moroccan national team, playing 35 international matches, during which he scored 3 goals and provided two assists. He was also crowned the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations title, in addition to the African Under-23 Cup title, and a bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
