The best moments from the 2026 Cooper Hill Cheese Rolling Competition

Thousands of people gathered in baking heat to watch competitors from all over the world chase a 7lb (3kg) double Gloucester cheese down a 1:2 gradient.

YouTube’s Tom Koepke won the first race of the annual race at Brockworth’s Cooper Hill, while France’s Alix Heugas topped the women’s race.

Prior to the tournament, 23-time champion Chris Anderson held the Guinness World Record for winning the most races between 2002 and 2022.

He came out of retirement to compete with Koepke, but finished second.
