Former Real Madrid player and coach Jorge Valdano has spoken about the Real Madrid election and his vision for Enrique Riquelme to challenge Florentino Perez for the presidency.

The Real Madrid player from 1984 to 1987 and the team’s coach from 1994 to 1996 appeared in the “La Casa del Fútbol” program of the Movistar Plus Deportes TV channel.

The 70-year-old former football player admitted that he “did not know” the new candidate for the president of Real Madrid until recently.

He emphasized. “It was that press conference (held by Florentino Pérez) that put Riquelme in a prominent position…Many people recognized Enrique because of Pérez.”
