Egypt’s youth team qualified for the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals after defeating Ivory Coast 4-1 in the quarter-finals of the tournament in Morocco this Sunday evening.

“Pharaohs” youths finished the first half with the score (3-0), Khaled Mokhtar scored two goals in the 29th and 45th minutes, and Ahmed Bashir in the 38th minute.

Ivory Coast’s only goal was scored by Brolay Cisse from the penalty spot, while Ziad Seoud scored Egypt’s youth team’s fourth goal in the 84th minute.

Egypt’s youth team will face their Tanzanian counterparts in the semi-finals after beating Algeria on penalties in the quarter-finals.

Egypt qualified for the quarter-finals of the Africa Youth Cup of Nations by finishing second in Group A, where they drew 0-0 with Ethiopia, then beat Tunisia (2-1) and lost to hosts Morocco by the same score.

Having qualified for the quarter finals, The Egyptian national team qualified for the Junior World Championship It is planned to be held in Qatar in November next year.
