Outstanding achievements for Manchester City under Guardiola
Aston Villa spoiled Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola’s farewell night after they won 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium in the last round of the Premier League this Sunday evening.
Manchester City opened the scoring through Antoine Semenho in the 23rd minute, before Ollie Watkins scored twice for Aston Villa in the 47th and 61st minutes.
Today, Guardiola played his last match as coach of “Manchester City”.After he announced his departure from Al-Ittihad Castle last Friday after 10 years of historic success with the Sky Club.
Guardiola started the Manchester City era in 2016 and managed to win 20 titles, notably the Premier League 6 times, in addition to the Champions League title in 2023.
Minutes before the end of the match, Guardiola went to shake hands with Aston Villa manager Unai Emery and his technical staff before entering the pitch after the final whistle to a standing ovation from the Citizens fans.
Guardiola missed out on the Premier League title this season and settled for second place behind Arsenal, who won the title after a 22-year absence.
It is noteworthy that the pair, Bernardo Silva and John Stones, also played their last match for Manchester City after announcing their departure at the end of the current season.
