Morocco’s participation Ashraf HakimThe full-back of Paris Saint-Germain, who will start against Arsenal in the final of the Champions League, is in serious doubt after he missed the domestic friendly match of the Parisian team yesterday, Saturday, in preparation for the upcoming confrontation.
As reported by the French newspaper L’Equipe, PSG held an internal friendly match to maintain the players’ physical fitness before the Champions League final, but Ousmane Dembele and Achraf Hakimi did not participate in the match.
Dembele has confirmed to several media outlets this week that he will be 100% fit to play in the Champions League final against Arsenal next Saturday.
The paper says there is optimism at PSG about Dembele’s fitness, but his failure to return to group training until next Tuesday will increase doubts over his ability to start the game.
L’Equipe explained that there are more doubts over Hakimi’s ability to start against Arsenal, especially as the Morocco international has been out longer than Dembele after picking up a hamstring injury in the Champions League semi-final first leg against Bayern Munich.
The paper adds that a clash with Arsenal could be premature for Hakimi, which could prompt the Moroccan star to settle for the bench.
L’Equipe reports that in Hakimi’s absence, Saint-Germain will rely on Warren Zaire Emery at right-back and Fabian Ruiz in midfield.
