Al-Hazm beat hosts Al-Fateh 3-1 in a match that brought them together in the Elite Aviation League final at the Tamuel Al-Ula Square Stadium in Al-Ahsa today, Saturday.

In the 45th and final minute of first-half stoppage time, Hassan Idris opened the scoring for Al-Hazm after a shot from outside the penalty area that Al-Fateh’s goalkeeper was unable to stop.

In the 49th minute, the same player scored the second perfectly, after receiving a throw-in on the edge of the penalty area, then brilliantly bursting into the area before a rocket shot off the roof of the goal.

Just two minutes later, Abdullah Al-Enezi managed to reduce the deficit for Al-Fateh when he fired a powerful low ball to the right of the keeper, who was unable to stop it.

But in the eighth minute of added time, Al-Hazm hit Al-Fateh and scored the third goal that ended the match.

He defeated “Al Hilal” and won the title

Al-Hazm had an exciting run in the Elite Aviation League Championship, which started with a 9th place finish in the league stage, with 33 points which they earned from 10 wins, 3 draws and 7 losses.

Al-Hazm started the qualifiers by overcoming Al-Akhdoud in the quarter-finals after beating them by three clean sheets in the first leg and drawing them a goal back in the second leg.

In the quarter-finals, Al-Hazm faced Al-Etifaq, who topped the league stage but sprung the biggest surprise when they beat them 6-0 in the first leg, the biggest result in the knockout stages.

Despite losing the second leg 1-3, Al-Hazm advanced to the semi-finals, setting up a date with Al-Hilal and pulling off the biggest surprise.

The surprise was not only in eliminating Al Hilal, although that was enough, but in the manner in which he eliminated them. After a 2-2 draw at their home stadium in Al Ras, some thought Al-Zaim would host the second leg, but Al-Hazm beat them with a clean sheet at their stadium in Riyadh.

In the final, Al-Hazm did not care to play the final game away from their home ground, namely at the Tamuel Al-Oula Square Stadium, the stronghold of Al-Fateh Club in Al-Ahsa City, where they defeated them and deservedly won the precious title.

The final star

The star of the final could be none other than Hassan Idris, the player who carried Al-Hazm on his shoulder against Al-Fateh and guided them to the title.

Idris scored Al-Hazm’s first and second goals with clear skill, be it ball control, dribbling or rocket shots that are difficult for goalkeepers to handle.

Hassan Idris was not content with scoring a brace for Al-Hazm as he also tried to create some chances for his teammates throughout the match, but their poor finishing prevented him from contributing to the third goal.
