Salah: No regrets… and I thought I’d take back my departure

The Egyptian Mohamed Salah of “Liverpool” said that he does not regret his decision to leave the “Reds” after the end of the current season.

Salah signed a new two-year contract with “Liverpool” in 2025, but announced his departure at the end of the current season.

Salah’s last season saw a significant drop in Liverpool’s performance under manager Arnie Sloat, and there was a public falling out between him and the manager.

The Liverpool Echo newspaper published some of Mohamed Salah’s statements on the club’s LFCTV channel, “Salah. during the documentary “Farewell to the King”.

Salah has reiterated his belief that the time is right to step down after a trophy-laden career that has seen him win two Premier League titles, the 2019 UEFA Champions League and other achievements.

Salah said: “I have signed to stay here for two more years and after one year I will leave. I don’t regret it. I took my time making the decision to leave. I tried to change the decision, but everything was not going in the right direction.”

He continued. “In the end, I told myself that this was the right decision for me. The fans will know that I gave everything I had and they will appreciate what I did. A club is not just about quality, it’s about what you give to the fans, what you give to the city and what you can give.”
