The boys are dead. Long live Vought Rising.

Well, that was fast. Boys The finale wrapped two days ago, but Prime Video wants to go further by releasing the first teaser for the prequel series, High Rise. It’s a spinoff series Gen V canceled after two seasons, High Rise and production Boys: Mexico must carry a franchise sign.

(Spoilers for Boys final list below.)

Boys‘ Season five set up a final showdown between Antony Starr’s Homelander and Karl Urban’s Butcher—who were looking for the original V-team that would make him immortal, the latter wanting to kill people with the Supe virus. Homeland succeeded in his quest, but he was not an impossible god. There were many losses on both sides of the conflict (RIP Frenchie, in particular), and the Homelander was eventually defeated and killed by the vengeful Butcher. (Starr still didn’t get her well-deserved Emmy; her performance was excellent.)

According to the official synopsis: “Set in the 1950s, the prequel series explores the twists and turns of Vought International. Customers show the world and stories that will tell the story of the next evolution.” According to series creator Eric Kripke, the Supes in this prequel start out in the military before moving to a secret agency – which would become Vought International. With this and his time in mind, Supes’ costume was inspired by USO performers.

Jensen Ackles reprises his role as Ben/Soldier Boy-back still with a patriotic attitude-together with Aya Cash, who was unforgettable as the secret Nazi Supe, Stormfront (aka Clara Vought), in Boys. Mason Dye plays Robbie/Bombsight (also in S5), Will Hochman plays Torpedo, Elizabeth Posey plays Private Angel, and Ethan Slater also plays Gen V role as Thomas Godolkin. (Kripke has said that other characters from the franchise may also appear.) The main cast also includes KiKi Layne, Jorden Myrie, Nicolo Pasetti, Ricky Staffieri, and Brian J. Smith in yet-to-be-named roles.

High Rise will be shown on Prime Video in 2027.
