Commentary: The Mandalorian and Grogu are…

Expectations were high The Mandalorian and Grogu, The main picture of director Jon Favreau in the famous series of Disney + The Mandalorian. After all, there hasn’t been a new movie in the Star Wars franchise since 2019 The Rise of Skywalker completed the three-part series that makes up the so-called “Skywalker Saga.”

The new video is… well. It’s time for Star Wars to come out, and it’s going to give families a fun Memorial Day weekend. It’s not just an impressive home run that could help launch the iconic franchise into an exciting new season, and Star Wars fans expecting more will be disappointed.

(Some spoilers below but nothing major to reveal.)

Grogu (fka “Baby Yoda”) won the hearts of the viewers since his first appearance on the show in the first season of The Mandalorianand the relationship between the young green creature and his father’s bounty hunter, the legendary Mandalorian, Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal), has only grown stronger. With Hollywood’s 2023 strike delaying production on season 4 of the series, Favreau got the green light to make the film.

Mando and Grogu (as his apprentice) hunt down the scattered remnants of the Imperial Fighters on behalf of the New Republic, taking orders from Sigourney Weaver’s Colonel Ward, a former pilot with the Rebel Alliance. These missions are confusing, with Mando being Mando. Ward really wants living warriors to get useful wisdom for them, but it’s understandable that they don’t like to come quietly, so sometimes, they die with their friends. We cannot be helped.

After Mando reveals his latest target, a distraught Ward gives him a new assignment: to follow Rotta the Hutt (Jeremy Allen White), son of the late Jabba, on behalf of the Hutt Twins, who have taken over Jabba’s business. Then, the twins will give important information about the location of a great warrior named Coin. Mando agrees, mostly because Ward offers her a makeover Razor Crest-like a submarine, like his old one that blew up at the end of S2.
