SPFL investigates two Celtic games, Inverness title clincher and two play-off fixtures

“During the 2025-26 season the SPFL completed 11 disciplinary proceedings against eight clubs for such incidents.

“These figures do not include final match days of the season and the SPFL can confirm that (matches being investigated) are being investigated under SPFL rules H36 and H37.

“In addition to these disciplinary processes, there is a continued need for all stakeholders to work together to address the challenges of unacceptable behavior at matches, including pitch occupation and the use of pyrotechnics.

“The SPFL is fully engaged with the Scottish Government’s advice on the Football Banning Order and looks forward to the next steps in that process.”

Celtic manager Martin O’Neill said allegations that Hearts players were assaulted during Saturday’s pitch invasion were “not substantiated”.

Hearts shareholder Tony Bloom claimed on Wednesday that Hearts players were assaulted by Celtic fans as they ran onto the pitch.

Police Scotland is investigating whether any crime was involved, and O’Neill said an “apology would be made” if evidence was found.
