Charges of embezzlement and money laundering

“Barcelona” has been referred to the anti-corruption prosecutor’s office over a sponsorship deal with the government of the Democratic Republic of Congo, which was signed in mid-2025, reports Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo.

The report, filed on May 5, calls for an investigation into Barca’s board of directors and Congolese Sports Minister Didier Bodembo on charges of money laundering, abuse of power and embezzlement of public funds.
