Trump’s phone is missing

Where is Trump’s phone? We will continue to talk about it every week. We’re here, as usual, to ask where Trump’s phone is. It’s now been over a week since Trump Mobile announced that the phones will “start shipping this week.”

Last week Trump Mobile announced that the T1 Phone was ready to start shipping by the end of the week. Nearly two weeks later, there’s still no sign of that happening — and the company still hasn’t shipped one of the two phones it ordered. Seaside.

Depending on where you get your news, you can trust the company when it says the phone is activated: The phone is “here” according to Newsweek“finally freed” according to The Daily Beastand now “shipping” according to Reuters.

None of this seems to be true. There is nothing SeasideTwo phone calls have been sent and currently unavailable – Trump Mobile has yet to ask for our shipping address and has not charged us beyond the $100 initial charge. Beyond us, I can’t find a single regular customer saying that they received a phone call or email confirming that their phone is ready to ship or that the company wants to charge them the remaining $399 after ordering. The company promised that the main release has not yet started.

At least two phones to be it’s out, though not through normal channels. All of them NBC and CNET receive T1 Calls; the former said he received his phone following an email from the company promising “equipment is going to radio stations,” when CNET he says his plan was “quick” with Trump Mobile, “because we’re cnet.com.” I have reached out to Trump Mobile for the umpteenth time and have now been told that we will have our plan expedited, although at the time of writing there is no change to our plan.

The good news is that both calls were sent to NBC and CNET compare it to what was in the company’s latest video. Each one ships with a braided USB-C cable, a wall charger, and a plastic case, and looks similar to the latest design — The US flag of 11 stripes including. You also get two unusual pre-installed apps: Trump’s social network Social Truth; and Doctegrity, a telehealth service bundled with Trump Mobile plans. No NBC either CNET has yet to review the phone, although NBC “tested its basic functions, such as calling, texting, web browsing and taking photos, which work well.” It’s a low bar, but Trump’s phone call clears it.

The release of Trump’s phone isn’t the most unsubstantiated claim I’ve seen in a while. Many sites are still repeating that 590,000 consumers ordered the phone, what I reported in January had no evidence – and this week leaking customer data it shows that about 30,000 calls were made. Some say the phone is based on the $250 T-Mobile Revvl 7 Pro 5G – we thought the same back when the T1 was first announced, but the current version of the phone doesn’t support Revvl at all. Some publications also say that the phone was made in China – it could be, but we don’t know, and if there is evidence that suggests that Taiwan is possible.

All that noise aside, Trump Mobile seems to have gotten what it wanted. By announcing the process of sending the phones and sending two to the press, the impression is made that the phone is here, the buyers are satisfied, and the whole thing is closed. Nothing to see here, folks.

In 11 months of covering the company, I’ve learned not to take Trump Mobile at its word. This is a company that missed every time it was launched, changed the design of its phone several times, and changed the way it was built.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I believe that Trump’s phone is here and not only in these two versions Seaside Shopping is in our hands, but when many other buyers have theirs. Until then, Trump’s phone has not been released, it has not been sent, and it is not here.
