Inzagin about his crisis with Benzema. This is why I can’t count on him

Al Hilal coach Italian Simone Inzaghi has settled the controversy surrounding the exclusion of Frenchman Karim Benzema from Thursday night’s game against Al-Fayhaa.

Inzaghi opted to rule out the French striker through injury before reports emerged that Benzema was angered by his manager’s decision after he expressed his willingness to take part.

Inzaghi said about this after the match. “Benzema took part in training yesterday, but he is not 100 percent ready.”

“He cannot be trusted in this way because he was unable to participate and we want to keep all the players safe.”

Inzaghi said about not winning the league. “The season was difficult due to the proximity of the championships and we suffered from a lot of fatigue, but despite that we fought until the end.”

He concluded. “Next season will be different and we will try to give everything we have to please the fans.”
