Al-Fayha’s management couldn’t get over their Roshan league defeat at the hands of Al-Hilal, so they sacked Portuguese coach Pedro Emmanuel in the last few hours, ending a journey that started with great promise and ended in defeat at Al-Majmaa.

“Al-Fayha” club officially expressed its thanks to coach Pedro Emanuel and the termination of the contract with him in a short statement, stressing that the two parties did not agree on the extension of the contract.

The decision was made a few hours after the team lost to Al Hilal in the thirty-fourth round of the Roshan Professional League at the latter’s Al Majmaah Stadium.

Although Emmanuel has performed at a remarkable level for Al-Fayha this season and steadied the team in central areas, the latest defeat hastened the decision to leave.

Al-Fayha finished the season in 10th place in the Saudi League standings with 38 points from 34 matches, during which they won 10 and drew 8 against 16 losses.

According to sources in Saudi newspaper Al-Youm, the Portuguese coach has already held advanced talks with Al-Etifaq club, who want to officially seal his contract in the current period to lead Fares Al-Dahna next season.

He pointed out that Emmanuel’s departure opens the door to speculation about the identity of Al-Fayha’s next coach, while it appears that the loss to Al-Hilal was the straw that broke the relationship between the two sides.
