Iran’s national team is preparing for the World Cup despite doubts
Today, Thursday, the entire delegation of the Iranian national team for the 2026 World Cup in Ankara, the capital of Turkey, submitted applications for entry visas to Canada.
Some players have also applied for US visas.

An Iranian soccer federation official said all members of the mission attended appointments to apply for Canadian visas, while some players who were unable to obtain US entry visas before the war broke out submitted their applications in Ankara.

He added that a number of Iranian professionals abroad had joined the team in Ankara before leaving for its training camp in Antalya.
The Iranian Federation announced earlier that after consultations with the International Federation (FIFA), the procedures for obtaining an entry visa to the USA will take place in Turkey.
