A serious arbitration charge hits Al-Nasr ahead of the decisive round

Al-Nasr faced a new wave of controversy hours before their expected clash with Damak in the 34th and final round of the Roshan Saudi Arabian Professional League on Thursday night, in a match that could officially decide the competition’s champions.

The allegations come at a highly sensitive time as the title race heats up to the finals amid high expectations from Al-Nasr and Al-Hilal fans, who will be chasing Al-Alami until the final moments of the season.

Al-Nasr head into the final with 83 points at the top of the Roshan League standings, just two ahead of second-placed Al-Hilal, meaning a win over Damak will officially give them the title, regardless of their opponent’s result against Al-Fayha.

According to a report by Saudi radio UFM, the penalty that Al-Nasr won against Al-Fayha in the seventh round of the competition was not correct in the first place.

The radio noted that this shot is considered the worst refereeing shot in the Roshan League this season, especially since it allowed Cristiano Ronaldo to score the game-winning goal for Al-Nasr.

The suggestion sparked controversy on social media, as some believed the referee’s shot directly affected the title race this season.

Al-Nasr would have dropped two points in the league race had it not been for the strike, which would have tied Al-Hilal on points ahead of the final round, bringing Al-Zaim’s chances of the title that much closer, Radio confirmed.
