The French striker missed the last match against NEOM
Al-Hilal coach Italian Simone Inzaghi made a surprising decision regarding his French striker Karim Benzema ahead of the crucial Saudi Roshan League match against Al-Fayha.
In the thirty-fourth and final round of the Roshan League, Al Hilal host Al Fayha at the Al Majmaah Sports City Stadium tomorrow, Thursday.
Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiah reported that Benzema will miss Al-Hilal’s final matches of the current season due to a lack of fitness.
Benzema suffered a hamstring injury in last Tuesday’s 1-1 draw with Al-Nasr in the Roshen League and he missed the next match against NEOM in the thirtieth round.
However, the surprise decision was that the French striker would not be traveling with the Al Hilal delegation traveling to Al Majmaa City to play the match, meaning he would not be celebrating with the team after winning the Roshen League title.
Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiya has confirmed that Al-Hilal captain Salem Al-Dosari will travel with the team to Al-Majmaa to celebrate the Saudi League crown should it happen, despite the possibility of missing the game due to injury.
“Al Hilal” ranks second in the Saudi Arabian league table with 81 points, two points behind the leader Al Nasr before the final round.
Al-Zaim must beat Al-Fayha, while neighbors and arch-rivals Al-Nasr stumble in their last game against Damak to claim the Saudi League title that was missing from their coffers last season.
