Prince William, a regular visitor to Villa Park, was spotted in the crowd as Villa thrashed. Nottingham Forest to secure their place in the Europa League final earlier this month.
So it was right that the prince traveled to Turkey to witness the history of the villa.
Television cameras captured the prince soaking up everything before kick-off as Villa held the trophy with those nearby to celebrate.
Prince John McGinn made sure to capture the historic moment as he lifted the trophy above his head.
Villa captain McGinn labeled Prince William a “common man” after the win.
“He’s a classy guy, he was in the dressing room before the game,” McGinn told TNT Sports.
“He’s a big Villa fan, he’s never missed it. He’s a normal guy, it’s great to have his support.”
The prince began supporting Villa during his school days in Berkshire, choosing a distant side because he didn’t want to follow the crowd.
“A long time ago at school, I got into football big time. I was going around clubs. All my friends at school were the same. Manchester United Supporters or Chelsea “My fans and I didn’t want to follow the teams that were running,” he told the BBC in 2015.
“I wanted to have a team that was more between the tables that could give me more emotional rollercoaster moments.”
William was born on 26 May 1982, 26 days after Villa beat Bayern Munich in the European Cup final.
He spoke about the joys he gets from following a club with the ups and downs Villa have faced in the past.
“Aston VillaHe always had a great story. I have supportive friends. Aston Villa And one of the first FA Cup games was Bolton v Aston Villa In 2000. Unfortunately, Villa lost Chelsea (Eventually),” he added.
“It was an atmosphere, I felt like there was something his friend and I could really relate to.”
