He said that Zamalek won an expensive championship
Former Al-Ahly star Imad Miteb has expressed his deep sadness over the team’s third-place finish in the Egyptian league this season.
Zamalek clinched the Premier League title this Wednesday night after beating Ceramica with a clean sheet, while Pyramids finished second and Al-Ahly third.
Miteb said in television announcements. “I’ll give it to you for the Al-Ahly fans, not the players. Al-Ahli’s presence in third place is a situation I haven’t seen in years.”
“I can’t accept Al Ahli being in the third place, but in general I accept the win and the loss, but the players of Al Ahli have only themselves to blame because they are the reason for being in the third place, which is an unacceptable arrangement.”
He continued. “The loss may prompt a sobering call, but Al-Ahly needs an administrative and technical review, as well as a method of selecting players, professionals and locals.
He noted: “A lot of things have to happen in the coming period at Al-Ahly, who have improved their image in the last 3 matches, but the start of next season should be strong and the fans should forget what happened this season.”
“We were very happy that Al-Ahly won the championships, but in the end Zamalek made a great effort in difficult conditions and they have the right to celebrate and be happy to win a very expensive tournament and the players worked hard to win the title.”
