Despite his happiness within Monaco, the Spanish star yearns for his Barca days
Monaco star Ansu Fati, on loan from Barcelona, is taking his time before deciding his ultimate fate as he believes he has a place in German coach Hans Flick’s squad.
Fatty has a contract… BarcelonaUntil 2028, however, Monaco want to activate his buyout clause for €11m, but the Spaniard has not given final approval and sees himself as an available option to strengthen Barcelona’s ranks, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Ansu Fati finished the French league campaign in impressive form, scoring three goals in his last three matches, the latest of which was a stunning goal against Strasbourg.
The winger has regained his special touch and feels he has the spark that made him wear the number 10 shirt with Barcelona (before Lamine Yamal).
At a time when Barcelona are looking for a left winger and are preparing to invest millions in different players such as Julian Alvarez or Marcus Rashford, Ansu Fati presents a free option. He has been a loyal player to “Barcelona” since his youth and fully knows the methods of the Catalan club.
Moreover, he has a close relationship with many Barcelona players, which makes his integration very smooth.
The newspaper noted that this does not mean that Fati does not feel happy inside Monaco. On the contrary, he feels a sense of belonging at the French club, but he also longs for the club where he spent his life and believes he deserves a place in the Catalan team.
He added that “Barcelona” has not yet had any conversation with Ansu Fati.
Barcelona are looking for a player to fill the left-back position as Rashford, who is on loan from Manchester United, has a €30m buyout option, but Barcelona do not want to activate it as it is considered too much money and are willing to renegotiate his loan.
