The league condemns the attack incident that took place in the Sevilla-Real Madrid game
The Spanish league, La Liga, has condemned the attack by Sevilla fans on Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior during the match between the two teams.
According to the Spanish “Mundo Deportivo”, the Disciplinary Committee of the Spanish Football Federation will start an exclusive investigation, although the referee did not record the incident in the report of the game that ended with the victory of the Royal team last Sunday.
Sevilla were threatened with a fine after the incident of throwing a bottle at Vinicius After scoring the only goal of the match for Real Madrid.
The Brazil star was on his way to celebrate a goal in front of the Andalucía fans before television cameras caught the moment a plastic water bottle was thrown at him without hitting him.
However, the incident was not included in the arbitration report drawn up by referee José María Sánchez Martínez, which would have initially spared Sevilla any minor financial penalty had it not been for the weekly reports the Spanish league submits to the Spanish Football Federation every Tuesday.
The La Liga report says: While Real Madrid were celebrating a goal in the corner, an empty plastic bottle was thrown into the stands from nearby. It didn’t seem to hit anyone. One of the Real Madrid players picked it up and took it away.
This report obliges the Disciplinary Committee of the Spanish Federation to open an exclusive file to gather more information, including viewing the video documenting the throwing process.
Thus, the Andalusian club could face a fine, as the incident is considered a “minor incident” according to Article 117 of the Disciplinary Regulations, which states: “If the game witnesses the events referred to in Article 15 of these Regulations and the Disciplinary Committee considers them to be minor violations, the club responsible will be fined €60.”
