Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe and Johannes Radebe have been announced as new presenters The Great Dance. He will start hosting the BBC dance competition when it returns this autumn for its 24th series.

Their appointment follows shocking announcement of departure to previous co-stars Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman. It appears to have caught the BBC by surprise, with a joint Instagram post from the pair just hours before the broadcaster broke the news. The pair have hosted the show together since 2014 and both received MBEs to continue broadcasting in June 2025.

The series change follows years of controversy on Strictly Come Dancing. Before his most recent series, it was reported in August 2025 that the BBC had said launched an investigation into cocaine use by two of the show’s stars.

The first contestant to leave the 2025 series, Thomas Skinner, also he criticized the fraudulent show of votes. He announced on television that after he came out, he was sent an “anonymous email claiming to be from a BBC executive with figures” showing he had “received more votes than he appeared” – which the BBC denies. It was widely reported in December 2025 that Skinner wanted to sue the BBC, but the broadcaster said at the time that it was not aware of any complaints in this regard.

The Christmas Day 2025 special of Strictly Come Dancing was Winkleman and Daly’s final show. After that, Winkleman went on to host a new talk show, The Claudia Winkleman Show. Produced by the company behind The Graham Norton Show, it aired celebrity interviews in front of a studio audience.
