The goalkeeper of “Barcelona” responded harshly to Perez

“Barcelona” goalkeeper Juan Garcia strongly reacted to the statements of the president of “Real Madrid” Florentino Perez, who recently complained that the referees “deducted 16 to 18 points” from the white club this season.

Peres’ words are not true

In an interview with the Spanish news agency, the Spanish goalkeeper did not hesitate to give a very clear answer to the president of “Real Madrid”.

He confidently added. “We are calm and satisfied with the trophy they gave us after El Clasico,” referring to the Spanish league title Barca won this season after a convincing El Clasico win over Real Madrid.

An exceptional season

Garcia’s response comes as he looks set to win the Zamora Award for the goalkeeper who has conceded the fewest goals in La Liga this season, having conceded just 33 times in 37 games.

In his first season with Barcelona since joining from Espanyol last summer, the 24-year-old goalkeeper managed to win the Spanish league title and the Spanish Super Cup, proving to be the right choice to keep the Blaugrana in goal.

Champions League winner

Despite the great success he achieved in his first season, Juan Garcia states that the club’s main goal remains to win the Champions League for the first time since 2015.

He explained. “It would be a mistake to think that it will happen on its own. We have to keep working and improving the little details that prevent us from qualifying.”

He added: “We are a very young team, we still need to gain a lot of experience in the Champions League. Last year we were very close to the final and this year we almost reached the semi-final.”
