Google I/O 2026 Live Blog: All the Updates on Gemini and Smart Glasses As They Happen


It’s Google’s biggest day. Every year in May, the tech giant hosts developers and media in its hometown of Mountain View, California, Google I/Oits production meeting. Google uses the key I/O address to show off the latest projects it’s been working on — services and products that will soon make their way into many of the things we all use today, from Android and Google Workspace to Gemini and Google Home.

What can you expect? We have the full report you can dig here. Before the I/O, last week Google announced the new about Android 17, Android Auto, and Gemini Intelligence-His philosophy of creating “the most advanced Android devices.” Plus, it made itself funny a laptop platform called Googlebookpowered by Android and Gemini technologies, with new devices from laptop manufacturers including HP, Dell, and Lenovo, coming later this year.

Today, we expect to see new job creation at Gemini, the latest AI models, and perhaps most interestingly, Google information. Android XR smart glassesexpected to launch this year from partners including Samsung, Xreal, Warby Parker, and Gentle Monster.

WIRED has reporters on the floor of the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California, where Google I/O is taking place.
