Defeated Sabers proud of franchise’s ‘giant step’

Although their renaissance season ended with an emotional 3-2 overtime loss to the Montreal Canadiens in Game 7, the Buffalo Sabers skated off the ice Monday night to take a standing ovation after a historic year that saw the end of a 14-season playoff drought.
