In video, Curaçao shocks everyone by announcing its 2026 World Cup roster

At 78 years old, Dick Advocaat is about to set an all-time World Cup record

Dutch veteran coach Dick Advocaat, coach of the Curacao national team, revealed the list of players selected for the 2026 World Cup in a remarkable and unconventional way that has sparked the interest of followers.

Advokat, who is 78, is set to make history as the oldest World Cup coach, surpassing the record held by German coach Otto Rehagel, who managed Greece at the 2010 World Cup at the age of 71.

The Curaçao team continues to prepare for the upcoming 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted by the United States of America, Mexico and Canada.

Curaçao’s historic qualification has become one of the most inspiring pre-tournament stories, especially as the tiny Caribbean island’s population does not exceed 150,000 people, while its area is only about 171 square miles, making its appearance in the world event an exceptional achievement by any standards.

The draw for the tournament resulted in Curaçao’s national team being placed in group five, along with Germany, the Ecuadorian national team, and the Ivory Coast national team.

The list included the presence of a number of famous names, led by Tahit Chong, a current Sheffield United and former Manchester United player.

The list of Curaçao is as follows.
