Starlink raises prices on satellite internet plans

Starlink is raising prices on all of its internet plans in the US – including Standby Mode – with the cheapest 100Mbps plan starting at $50 to $55/month, as he said before and PCMag. Meanwhile, Starlink’s 200Mbps residential plans jumped from $80 to $85/month, while the Residential Max plan went from $120 to $130/month.

Standby Mode, which allows subscribers to stop their Starlink main service while using the lowest unlimited data, now costs $10/month instead of $5. Starlink is also raising the prices of its Roam plans, with the 100GB plan moving from $50 to $55 per month, and its unlimited plan increasing from $165 to $175 per month. The 300GB Roam plan still costs $80 per month.

Starlink has been a boon to rural US communities with limited access to internet, but there are concerns about whether it will reduce competition in the region. In letter to the Federal Communications Commission last week, owner of Starlink SpaceX he says the organization should be dissolved $4.5 billion in rural Internet services, arguing that satellite Internet has “solved” the problem of high-speed access.
