Champions Cup Final: Leinster wing Tommy O’Brien is an injury doubt

Leinster wing Tommy O’Brien is an injury concern in Saturday’s Invetec Champions Cup final against Bordeaux-Bagles at the San Mamés Stadium in Bilbao (14:45 BST).

The 27-year-old will be further assessed after being withdrawn from the matchday squad 68-14 United Rugby Championship win Over the Ospreys at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday.

The Ireland international sustained a knock in training and a decision on his fitness will be made later in the week.

Brian Deeney, Joshua Kenny and Paddy McCarthy will also be monitored, with decisions on their availability to be made later in the week.

Center Hugh Cooney picked up an injury against the Ospreys and will be unavailable for the rest of the season.

Leinster are aiming to secure a fifth European title eight years after their last success, as they take on the defending champions.

The Irish province have lost four finals since lifting the trophy in 2018, losing to Saracens in 2019, La Rochelle in 2022 and 2023 and Toulouse in 2024.
