Wales’ skills and depth of player pool remain up for debate.
Interim attack coach Ashley Beck said: “If the skill level isn’t as good as it should be, it doesn’t matter what shape you play.
“If we want to play an exciting brand of rugby and compete against the best, skill development needs to be better.”
Beck’s view was echoed by former Wales fly-half James Hook, who was among the scrum V pundits on Sunday. He also questioned whether Wales players were giving extra to improve individually.
“Whether it’s working on your kicking, your throwing, your passing, your tackling for an hour a day — are these players doing that? I don’t know,” Hook said.
“From my experience, once the team session is over, your individual work still needs to continue.”
The panel also discussed Wales’ strengths in depth, with Wales clearly in need of some reinforcements at fly-half.
Lillycrap said: “People are calling for Leiku George to be replaced, but who will come in the end? If you take him off the field, what do you have ten more?”
“As a fly-half on the international stage, you have to run this team, you can’t throw a young man into that lion’s den.”
