Polish striker. I felt at home in “Barcelona” from the first day
Barcelona striker Poland Robert Lewandowski seemed very emotional in his farewell speech at the Camp Nou stadium after the 3-1 victory over Real Betis in the 37th round of La Liga on Sunday evening.
Lewandowski has announced his intention to leave Barcelona when his contract expires at the end of the current seasonAfter 4 years at Camp Nou.
The Polish forward left the Real Betis game in the 85th minute in tears on the pitch and on the bench to a standing ovation from his teammates, in addition to the fans in the Catalans’ base, to give the former Bayern Munich star the best farewell in his last game at the Camp Nou.
After the match, Lewandowski spoke to the Catalan fans at Camp Nou, saying: “This is a very exciting and difficult day. When I arrived in Barcelona, I knew how great this club was and because of your love it was great.”
“From the first day I felt at home here in Barcelona and in this stadium. I’ll never forget when you chanted my name.”
“I thank my teammates, coaches and everyone who works in this club. It was an honor for me to play for this club. We have had great moments during these four years. I’m proud of what I’ve done and what we’ve achieved together.”
“Today I say goodbye to you and I say goodbye to the stadium, but Barcelona will remain in my heart. Thank you very much, Barcelona fans. Long live Barça and long live Catalonia.”
It is noteworthy that “Barcelona” won the title of La Liga champion for the second time in a row and the twenty-ninth time in its history, after defeating “Real” in El Clasico (2-0) since the previous round.
