Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo, the captain of Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nasr Saudi Arabia, has come under heavy criticism and attacks from fans and critics after losing to Gamba Osaka in the AFC Champions League 2nd Final at the All Park Stadium on Saturday night.
The match, which ended in a 0-1 defeat for Al-Nasr, witnessed a shocking display from Ronaldo who wasted many easy chances especially in the first half.
The former star of the Saudi Arabian national team Hussein Abdul-Ghani said during the “Nadine” program. “I don’t know why they don’t replace Cristiano Ronaldo. Is it forbidden? He was not in his prime, but he was not replaced.”
“The interest of the team is above all considerations and Jesus has been courting Ronaldo since the beginning of the season. He is now a burden on the team and is only hitting from set balls.”
He continued his speech. “Ronaldo is polite and offers nothing. He controls the team, but he needs to be replaced if he is far from his level.”
He referred to “Al Nasr” coach Georges Jesus, saying: “The Portuguese coach did not play a good team and made some inexcusable mistakes that led to the loss of the team.”
He concluded. “I don’t know the reason for the participation of Saad Al-Nasser as a focal point. He’s basically a full-back and he couldn’t provide the level he needed, but the biggest blame has to go to Jesus.”
