Relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan have been strained since the Taliban took power in 2021.
On Monday, Pakistan summoned Afghanistan’s top diplomat after an attack by the Pakistan Taliban, known as the TPP. The group has said it has carried out two more attacks since then, mostly against security forces.
Islamabad accuses Kabul of supporting the militants, which it denies.
The latest violence began with a major border skirmish in February. Mediation efforts by Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey and China led to calm.
But the two sides have continued to fight. This includes the neglect of Pakistanis at a drug treatment center that killed more than 250 people.
Will breaking these rules cause the enemy to start again? And is it possible to have lasting peace between neighbors?
