The Scots have recalled Emily Kubrow and Shona Campbell for the Ireland match

Scotland have made two changes for the final match of their Women’s Six Nations campaign, with number eight Emily Kubrow and wing Shona Campbell called up for Sunday’s tour of Ireland.

After an opening win over Wales, Sion Fukofuka’s side were comprehensively beaten by England, Italy and France and finished fifth in the standings.

Ireland are third with two wins from their four matches, behind two unbeaten teams – England and France.

There will be over 30,000 supporters at the Aviva Stadium and the home side will be favorites to overcome a Scotland side that has endured a disappointing tournament.

Head coach Fukofuka wants his team to seize another landmark occasion for women’s rugby and end the tournament on a positive note.

“We’ve been under a bit of pressure for the past few weeks,” Fukofuka said.

“Obviously the injuries have been challenging, but at the Aviva we have an opportunity to go out there and play with a bit of freedom and express ourselves and finish the tournament on a high.

“We’ve talked about taking that energy and allowing it to fuel us as well, because we see there will be a lot of Irish fans, but at the same time it’s a celebration of women’s rugby and we want to play our part in that game.”

Coubrough replaced Holland Bogan in the pack while Becky Boyd moved to blindside flanker, with Campbell coming in for Francesca McGhee, who was not involved after picking up an injury against France.

Hooker Lana Skeldon is also unavailable with a neck injury and center Lisa Thomson is still not fit to return to action after a long-term Achilles problem despite joining the squad last week.

“Unfortunately Fran pulled out after the weekend with some soreness and it was decided that she would not be available for this week,” Fukofuka said.

“Lisa tried everything to come back for this game. She pushed the timelines pretty hard and did everything she could to prepare herself. But the fact is she was not declared physically fit.”

Fly-half Helen Nelson continues to captain the team in the absence of Rachel Malcolm.
