Ahmed Atif, the former football star of Saudi Arabia, criticized the coach of the “Al-Ittihad” team, the Portuguese Sergio Conceicao, considering him an eccentric coach.

Conceição led Al-Ittihad to a 3-1 win against Al-Etifaq in the thirtieth round of the Roshen League at the Ego Stadium in Dammam yesterday, Thursday.

Despite the victory, Atif attacked the Portuguese coach for the constant change of elements in the defensive line, such as Hasan Kadish, Ahmed Sharahili, Carlo Simic and even midfielder Fabinho, who participated alongside the Portuguese Danilo Pereira.

“For me, Conceicao is an eccentric coach. The coach is always looking for consistency and continuity, even to evaluate the players well and find out how useful they are to his technical style.”

He added: “As for the question of constant change, it affects the organization and consistency, as well as the implementation of the technical ideas that the coach wants.”

He added: “Coaches rarely make changes in the middle of the field, but for it to be in the defensive line and on an ongoing basis, it means that the manager can’t communicate his idea to the players or that he is not convinced by them.”

He concluded. “These are the problems of Conceição and therefore the Union suffers from defensive problems in most games because the system that has to be applied to the players is constantly changing and that is a negative point.”

It is noteworthy that all the rumors confirm that Conceicao will leave the position of technical director of Al-Ittihad after the end of the current season, especially after the negative results suffered this season and not achieving any title.
