One thing that is certain is that Hull will be in the end. But the uncertainty over next Saturday’s game is not helpful to their fans, many of whom will want to book travel and accommodation to get to London.
BBC journalist and Hull fan Bobby Huyton told BBC Radio 5 Live: “We’re basically being told buy a ticket and you’re taking a gamble.
“Maybe not even next week. Nothing but disappointment and I’m really disgusted with how it’s been handled.”
Hull City’s Official Supporters’ Club have also expressed their concern about how the play-off finals can move in such a short period of time.
“This is a situation where we had no influence but we are being punished as a football club and as fans,” he said.
“Any decision to move the final date would mean that many of our fans would not only be at a financial loss, but would not be able to attend the rescheduled game.
We feel that this situation is unfair, mainly due to the fact that the EFL failed to publish the sanctions handed down for breaching the rules because it was through its own fault that it ‘spyed’ on opposition teams.
