Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of Al-Nasr, has become a symbol of the Saudi football project since moving to the team in January 2023 after terminating his contract with Manchester United.
A new proposal has emerged in recent hours that aims to restore the balance between the clubs in the Saudi Roshan League next season, with Al-Ittihad acquiring a star worthy of Ronaldo in the upcoming summer transfer window.
This proposal was presented by the Saudi journalist Abdullah Falata, talking about the problem of Karim Benzema, the French striker of “Al Hilal” and his departure from the club “Al-Ittihad” in the last winter transfer period.
During the “Action with Walid” program of the “MBC Action” channel, Flata said: “Look at the picture of Cristiano Ronaldo sitting down and looking disappointed (after the last Al Hilal game) and how the world reported it.”

He added: “Now we need balance in the sporting draft, the federation needs a big player of the first class for balance, so that each of the big four teams has a player of that category.”
“Al-Ittihad don’t have a player of Karim Benzema’s value right now and I have to repeat Cristiano Ronaldo’s strike and the global appeal it has had at every club, so it is necessary for Al-Ittihad to bring in a first-class player for the Saudi project to succeed.”
Notably, Benzema left Al-Ittihad for arch-rivals Al-Hilal in last winter’s transfer window after two-and-a-half seasons with the Tigers, winning two Roshen League titles and two Guardian of the Holy Mosques Cups.
