With memories of the historic cup… revealing the second Rushen League entrant

Memories of the historic trophy accompanied Saudi Roshan’s second promotion to the league next season in 2026-2027, behind the Abha side.

Abha was the first to qualify for the next season of the Roshan League last April, winning the Saudi Arabian Yellow League title for the first division with 4 rounds to go in the competition.

Almost 3 weeks after Abha’s promotion to the Roshan League, Al-Faisal’s team saw them through after a 4-0 win over fellow club Al-Batin in the thirty-fourth and final round of the Yellow League today, Thursday.

The win took Al-Faisali’s tally to 73 points, which puts them in second place in the table, a position that qualifies them directly into the Roshen League, ending the dreams of third- and fourth-placed Diriya and Al-Ula’s direct qualification.

Diriya and Al-Ula will have to wait for the Roshan League qualifying play-off matches with Al-Oruba and Al-Jabalin, who are in fifth and sixth place.

Al-Faisali returns to the Roshan League after 4 years in the Yellow, as it was last relegated at the end of the 2021-2022 season, where all his attempts in the last three seasons have failed.

Al-Faisal has a good history in Saudi football, being one of those who won the Guardian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup in the 2020-2021 season, a season before relegation.

In their journey to the prized trophy, Al-Faisali beat Al-Taawun 3-2 in the final, a clean sheet to eliminate Al-Nasr from the semi-finals and Al-Batin from the quarter-finals, the same team that saw them return to the Roshen League.
