Dyson puts a camera on its cleaner so that the fresh air follows you

Dyson has announced a new wireless air purifier that is the first to include an AI-powered camera to track the location of people in the room. Dyson already uses a mixture of cameras and AI in its robovacsbut starting from a new one Find+Follow Cool Cleaners It doesn’t stop and doesn’t risk running into abandoned socks, here it is used to improve ventilation for you and save energy by turning off the fan when the room is empty.

The Dyson Find+Follow Purifier Cool is now available in its online and retail stores for $894.99 and can catch and pull out 99.97 percent of particles as small as 0.3 microns, including odor-causing particles, bacteria, and viruses.

It can be connected to Wi-Fi to allow it to be controlled remotely with the Dyson mobile app, but the images captured through its periscope-like camera are only processed by its AI features there, ensuring privacy. It also does not identify any individual. AI is used to detect presence, and camera images are extracted after being analyzed in real time. Using a camera seems like an overkill for presence detection where simple sensors can do the same, but Dyson is known for throwing a lot of engineering into the problem.

Cleaners can track people’s movements so if you’re walking around the kitchen it will intelligently rotate to adjust its movement around you. If there are many people in the same room, the air flow will automatically change to circulate between them. It can adjust the amount of air emitted when more pollutants are detected, and the Dyson Find+Follow Purifier Cool is compatible with Matter so it can be integrated with smart home settings including Apple Home and Google Home.
