BBC at the scene of the Russian attack in Kiev

At least five people, including a 12-year-old girl, were killed after Russia carried out a series of drone and missile strikes on Ukraine overnight, officials said.

Three of the dead were pulled from the rubble of a partially destroyed apartment building in Kiev, police said.

It was the third day in a row that Ukraine reported deaths as Moscow stepped up its offensive after a three-day ceasefire expired on Monday.
