Arne Slott: Liverpool manager says he has ‘every reason to believe’ he will stay at club

Liverpool Manager Arne Slott says he has “every reason to believe” he will be in charge of the club next season.

The Dutchman guided Liverpool Won the Premier League title in his first season in charge but has come under fire for the team’s performances and results this campaign.

The fourth-placed Reds will end the season without a trophy and their place in next season’s Champions League is not guaranteed with two matches remaining.

Despite fan displeasure, the club’s hierarchy have not indicated they are considering replacing the slot this summer.

Discussing his future on Thursday, Slott said: “I don’t think I’m making the decision alone but I have every reason to believe that I am. Liverpool Manager next season.

“Firstly, I have signed a contract with this club and secondly from all the discussions we are having. This is my decision.

“If you don’t have the best season, especially if you compare it to last season – if you compare it to other seasons, you might have a different debate, but if you compare it to last season – it certainly wasn’t a great season, then it’s normal to have criticism.

“We all had our share, and I mean the players had their share, the manager had their share and other people at the club had their share. If you don’t win the league, that’s how it works these days.”
