West Ham: Katrina Gorey to leave at the end of the season

While at West Ham, Gorey has used his platform to negotiate motherhood In women’s football, eating disorder and undergoing IVF (In Vitro Fertilization).

“It’s an emotional time to be leaving West Ham, but I know it’s the right decision for me and my family,” said Gorey, who has two young children.

“I have enjoyed many incredible moments over the past two and a half years, and captaining this team is the greatest honor.

“West Ham is a special club with an incredible fanbase that always shows. The fans have seen so much growth and I’m proud to be a part of that journey.

“I’ve felt at home since I arrived. I brought a two-year-old daughter here and I’m leaving East London with an even bigger family.

“I left a better person and a better player and for that I will always be grateful.”

Gorey appeared in all of West Ham’s WSL matches last year as they set their highest points tally.

In 2025–26 she made 18 appearances in all competitions and helped Australia reach the final of the Women’s Asian Cup.

“It has been a pleasure working with Minny during my time at West Ham, albeit a short one,” said manager Rita Guarino, who joined in December.
