Netflix’s marketing plans are only getting bigger

For the second year in a row, the Netflix-backed episode increased its monthly viewership. At its 2026 premiere, Netflix revealed that its $8.99 per month plan reaches more than 250 million people worldwide, a huge jump from 94 million users were reported last year.

Netflix first it released its ad-supported Basic version in 2022and since then, it has not only grown in membership but also in value. The advertising service has integrated the Basic system into its own recent tripsmaking it $2 more than its opening price of $6.99. This week, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton mentioned the plans supported by Netflix in a case against the companyalleging that the service misled subscribers about the data it collected about them for advertising.

Netflix is ​​expanding its ad-supported service to 15 new countries, including Austria, Belgium, Colombia, Denmark, Indonesia, Ireland, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, the Philippines, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, and Thailand. The service is also testing a new personalization tool that changes the ads subscribers see “based on their viewing experience.”
