A unique idea for an inspiring party
Andy Jackson, Futbolco’s senior vice president for the Middle East, confirmed this Indivisa Awards for Saudi Arabia Women’s Football, presented by Roshen GroupIt represents a historic step in the development of women’s football in the Kingdom, highlighting that the game is no longer just a fledgling project, but has a large fan base and real passion that grows year on year.
During his speech at the ceremony, Jackson said that Futbolco has believed in the great potential of women’s football in Saudi Arabia for years, noting that this belief began three years ago after producing a documentary about the ambitions of developing the women’s game within the kingdom.
He explained that Futbolco has taken practical steps to support women’s football in the Arabic language as it launched an Arabic version of its Indivisa platform in 2023, making it the first platform fully dedicated to the coverage of women’s football in Arabic.
He added that 2024 saw the launch of the first Arabic program specializing in women’s football on YouTube, which has so far garnered more than 150 million views, while an episode promoting the Saudi Women’s Football Awards approached the million-view mark, becoming the most-watched episode in the program’s history.
Jackson continued that the company continued its expansion in 2025 with the launch of the Indivisa website in Arabic, which will be a permanent platform to support women’s football in the region, explaining that the Arabic channels affiliated with the platform have collected more than 250 million videos in the past year, in addition to more than 400 million impressions of women’s football content.
He noted that a study launched by the company last April showed that Saudi Arabia has the second-highest percentage of women’s soccer fans watching a weekly match in the world, behind only the United States, which he described as a clear indication of the game’s significant growth within the kingdom.
Jackson emphasized that what caught her attention most recently was the great influence of the first generation of professional female Saudi players, not only on the field, but also as a source of inspiration for girls and women in Saudi society.
She revealed that the idea to launch the Saudi Women’s Football Awards started a year ago in a small meeting room when she met with Taha Omani, head of content for the Arabic version of the Indivisa website, to develop a vision for the first version of the awards. She explained that they wanted the awards to go beyond just honoring women players on the field and also include women who work in the development of the game, whether in administrative, community or grassroots aspects.
She added that making the idea a reality was not easy, stressing that she spent about a year looking for a business partner to support the project before the idea was fully supported by the Roshan Group, who believed in the initiative and shared their desire to celebrate the achievements of women in Saudi football.
Jackson thanked the Futbolco team in Riyadh, as well as their partners within the Kingdom, in addition to the Ministry of Sports and the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, for their continued support for the development of women’s football.
He also appreciated the great public interaction with the awards, explaining that the voting process witnessed 97,382 votes, a number that clearly exceeded their expectations.
He emphasized that their ambition is to make the event an annual fixture on the Saudi football agenda in the next phase, always held before the cup final, indicating that they are looking forward to the awards becoming a “balloon role” for Saudi women’s football in the future.
He clarified that the ceremony will not be limited to the distribution of awards, but will be supported by a series of media materials through a network of brands affiliated with the company “Footbulco” in the Arabic language, which includes “Goal”, “Quoora” and “Indivisa”, platforms that reach a total of more than 170 million Arab fans, including 2 million fans in Saudi Arabia.
Jackson concluded by emphasizing that football does not see football as a man’s or women’s game, but rather a game that belongs to all, stressing that investment in women’s football is not just a temporary initiative linked to a major tournament, but rather a long-term project aimed at building the future of the game in the Kingdom and across the region.
