Barcelona interim president Rafa Juste launched a fierce attack on Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, describing his latest statements as “pathetic and full of lies” in response to the latter’s accusations against the Catalan club.
Juste’s comments came today, Wednesday, as part of an official lunch brought together by the Barcelona administration and his counterpart at Deportivo Alaves in Vitoria, a day after Florentino Perez’s controversial press conference.
Justi said:Florentino’s words seemed pathetic and full of lies to meThe club issued an official statement yesterday discussing legal action, but I can confirm that this maneuver by Perez to cover up a two-year sporting disaster will get him nowhere.”
He added: “There is no point talking about the Negra case again, while we won two league titles with a project based on La Masia players and a project from other countries. We won the title by 14 points and what he’s doing is just a smokescreen to try to justify the mismanagement of the sport. “Barcelona fans are very happy and nothing will take away our joy.”
Juste strongly responded to Perez’s accusations of “stealing 7 titles”, saying: “This is a complete lie. It is not objectively so. He knows it, and we will defend ourselves. This is our duty to the fans and the club, and no one touches Barcelona.
In a direct message to the president of “Real”, Juste continued in a sarcastic tone. “We are very happy to win the league and to reach the title of one of the most difficult leagues in the world for two seasons in a row, but I have to say something to Mr. Florentino. On July 1, Joan Laporta arrives.”
He continued his message to Peres. “There is a famous series in Spain called (La que se avecina) (which can be translated as ‘appearing on the horizon’)… and here’s what to expect. We will continue to fight to give this club more success so that La Masia remains the main pillar of our sporting project.”
Regarding the announcement made by Barcelona last night, Juste explained. “There are still no developments regarding possible legal procedures. The case is in the hands of the legal department as of yesterday and we will let you know when there is a development, but red lines can never be crossed and this man has already crossed them.
Regarding the relationship with “Real”, Juste distinguished Florentino Perez and other officials of the Royal Club. “On Sunday, Perri, the honorary president and part of his board of directors were present with Emilio Butragueño. They were very kind and respectful and we have nothing to say to them, but the highest representative of the club is the president and when he makes such statements.”
